About Pippin Grove

At Pippin Grove, we’re passionate about cultivating positive character, essential life skills, critical thinking and a deep appreciation for the arts.

Through engaging, hands-on activities, we aim to instill in our students a love for learning and a strong sense of personal capability. From exploring the wonders of science to delving into the depths of history, our curriculum is designed to spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and develop reasoning skills that will serve our students well throughout their lives.

Pippin Grove is about children becoming confident, compassionate, and intellectually curious individuals.

Kirstin’s journey in education began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology from University of Wisconsin, Madison and a Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from California State University, Chico. She worked as a speech therapist in multiple settings including schools, hospitals, and a private practice. Her time as a therapist was put on hold when her oldest child turned 6 and she was able to stay home full time to more fully focus her efforts on homeschooling her children. Through her 10+ years of homeschooling she developed a deep appreciation for Charlotte Mason and classical approaches to education. Inspired by the principles of these methodologies, she recognized their potential to cultivate independent thinkers, foster a love for literature and the arts, and instill a lifelong love for learning.

Kirstin and her husband Steve have homeschooled their four children in Montana, Southern California, and in Chico, California and have recognized the need for a supportive community that would provide resources, guidance, and encouragement to families who wished to adopt the Charlotte Mason and classical philosophies within their homeschooling journey.
